 Harold "Dickie "Bird OBE (1933 - 2025)

Like everyone else in the cricketing world, everyone here at Wombwell Cricket Lovers' Society is devastated to hear about the passing of our President & Patron Dickie Bird OBE. 
As you can imagine there are so many tributes from all around the cricketing world and beyond, several of which you can read by clicking on the button below.

Ted Peate (1855 - 1900) 


Ted Peate of Yorkshire CCC, is the very first  name on the Test match Bowling honours board at Lords. Ted currently lies in an unmarked grave in Yeadon, Leeds.

 Sir Michael Parkinson

(28 March 1935 
– 16 August 2023) 

The society is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our Society Patron, Sir Michael Parkinson.
As one would expect, there were many glowing obituaries, here is just one of them.
