Junior Coaching

One of the unique things that we believe sets us apart from other cricket societies is the junior coaching that we offer during the winter months.

Over the years we are very proud to be able to say that a number of county and international players have emerged such as Graham Stevenson, Arnie Sidebottom, Tim Boon, Martyn Moxon, Darren Gough and Joe Root.

This coming winter season 2024/2025, the weekly nets will take place on Tuesday evenings from 645pm - 815pm and our venue once again is the fantastic Indoor Cricket Hall at Sheffield Hallam University Sports Park, Sheffield S9 1UA.

The first coaching session starts on Tuesday 7 January 2025
and the programme lasts for 8 weeks, finishing on
Tuesday 25 February 2025. 

The annual coaching awards evening will then take place on Thursday 27 March 2025 and they will again be held at Shaw Lane Sports Club in Barnsley. 

We had a fantastic response in 2024 with around 40 keen cricketers attending every week, thanks in no small part to our very knowledgeable and experienced coaching team. Our coaching sessions are open to all, and for 2024/25 we have a new Head Coach Hugh Tingle, who has been involved in the coaching programme for many years.
