Junior Coaching

One of the unique things that we believe sets us apart from other cricket societies is the junior coaching that we offer during the winter months.

Over the years we are very proud to be able to say that a number of county and international players have emerged such as Graham Stevenson, Arnie Sidebottom, Tim Boon, Martyn Moxon, Darren Gough and Joe Root.

We had a fantastic response in 2025 with no less than 50 keen cricketers attending every week, thanks in no small part to our very knowledgeable and experienced coaching team.

 Our coaching sessions are open to children over the age of 8 and under the age of 16, as at 1 September 2025, and for 2025/26 our Head Coach Hugh Tingle, who has been involved in the coaching programme for many years, will once again be taking the lead on our behalf. 

For this coming winter season 2025/2026, our coaching programme will once again take place during January & February, in the Indoor Cricket Hall at Sheffield Hallam University Sports Park, Bawtry Road, Sheffield S9 1UA.

The first coaching session will take place on Tuesday 6 January 2026 & will the course will last for 8 weeks, finishing on Tuesday 24 February 2026.

Please note that we have been inundated with applications, and as of Sat 08 November have already surpassed 50 applicants, which is the maximum number of attendees that we can accommodate.
 Therefore, unfortunately at this time we cannot accept anymore applications, although you are welcome to go on a waiting list, in the unlikely event that somebody drops out.

Finally, a big Thank You to all of you that have applied, you are helping the Society continue our successful and long standing coaching programme, and your support is very much appreciated.
